Each year I try and squeeze 12 months of activities into a five minute presentation. hopefully updating everyone on the activities we've participated in throughout the year. Well, a picture is worth a thousand words they say, so I thought I'd take some snapshots of some of our clients taking part in some of our programs.

Gazette on Cassette

As always, the Gazette on Cassette has had another successful season with up to 15 participants each week. We received a nice note from Mr. Danley, expressing his thanks for the service and I've included it on our display board. Actually, I couldn't resist sharing his unique notepaper with everyone.

Computer Program

The Computers program has continued to expand and we now have two in each lodge and 13 systems have been put together and are in the clients homes. After some coaxing I was able to get Fay McGill, Anna Menkema, Mabel Boutlet and May Sutton to pose with their computers for us.

Gazette Column

Of course there's the weekly Gazette column, and our signature "Smile File". I had a phone call fro, a client who just wanted to let me know that her brother, who resides in B.C. each week cuts the "Smile File" out of the paper and takes it with him to his cancer clinic. They're making a collage of these bits of humor on one wall in the clinic, hoping to bring a smile to some of the faces that are there for their treatments each week. The column is educational, but it also provides a bright spot in our readers day. It's a known fact that you are never too old to enjoy a little humor in your life. Enhancing lives! That's what the services for seniors' program is all about.

More Important Events, Activities and Services

*Back by popular demand again this year is our "Cooking for One or Two" cook book.
*The Newsletters continue to be popular and have provided an excellent tool for educational purposes, while also being a reminder to everyone that we are here to help in any way we can.
*Our office volunteer, Errol Weedmark, has also been a great addition for us. Errol's help has made a difference and we thank him for his many hours of faithful help.
*On our poster I've included our "Tea Time" a very important event each week. We no longer have our Pot Luck Lunch program, but that doesn't mean we don't get together. I'd like to thank Ina Klein, Faye, Anna, and Ann for allowing me to snap some shots of the event.
*Since the launch of E.R.I.K. April 2004, we have had the good fortune to receive financial support for the program and there are over 250 kits in individual homes to date.
Glenboro, South Cypress, Wawanesa Handi Transit has bus passes available through our office any time. A pass is $45.00 ( a $48.00 transportation value)
